Trasmission Service & Repair

Transmission service is a term that can cover a number of different actions and checks. And these checks and actions are very important to ensure a long life for your transmission free of problems and incidents. A big part of transmission service is checking your transmission to make sure it’s running at optimal levels. If not, technicians can detect and repair minor problems before they become major ones.

A complete transmission service is the most comprehensive form of preventative transmission maintenance offered. Not only do we replace transmission fluid and filter, we also check various components to make sure they are in good working order. We examine the transmission sump and pan. We clean the transmission pan. We replace the pan's gasket material. While we have the pan removed, we also look inside your transmission to check for friction damage and metal particles. We will advise you if your transmission shows excessive wear serious enough to be of concern. Any serious issues will lead to a recommendation from our auto mechanic as to your best course of action.

If you never have a transmission service performed your transmission fluid will become contaminated with metal shavings and other particles over time. Using contaminated fluid will shorter the lifespan of your transmission.

Signs That Something is Wrong & Transmission Repair is Needed:

  • Trouble Shifting Gears
  • Gears Slip Out of Place
  • Fluid Leaking
  • Inoperative Vehicle
  • Check Engine Light Turns On
  • Burning Smell
  • Grinding, Shaking, Clunking, Humming, or Whining

All of these are indicative of a transmission problem. The transmission is the heart of the engine and provides a consistent power source to the rest of the vehicle. It is made of 800 different parts and requires an expert mechanic to identify any issues and fix them. Most transmissions are rebuilt, rather than replaced brand new, because of the high cost.
